Indonesia Manpower Ministry Offers Free Health Checks to Jakarta Residents

JAKARTA, Aug. 18, 2026 — Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower, through its Jakarta-based Center for Occupational Safety and Health, provided free health screenings and consultations to residents in Jagakarsa and Matraman, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
The services included checks for blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid and heart rate variability (HRV), as well as health consultations.
Manpower Minister Yassierli said the program was part of efforts to provide direct benefits to the public as Indonesia marked the 81st anniversary of its independence.
“The spirit of independence should not only be celebrated ceremonially, but also be reflected in activities that provide direct benefits to the community,” Yassierli said.
He said improving public health was part of efforts to build a healthier and more productive workforce.
Yassierli also praised the Jakarta Center for Occupational Safety and Health for its involvement and encouraged the ministry’s technical units to expand public education and preventive health services.
The ministry said it hoped similar programs could be developed further as part of the government’s public service efforts. (gus)
